Kathryn Beaubien has spent 16 years advocating on behalf of the firm’s clients on Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch. A registered lobbyist, Kathryn's specialties are Federal regulatory policy and Congressional appropriations. She has led the firm’s very successful efforts to obtain Federal funding for the SF Bay Area Water Transit Authority and other public clients. In addition to her appropriations expertise, Kathryn heads up the firm’s regulatory branch. In this capacity she works on behalf of clients to influence the regulatory process, often drafting comments and proposing regulatory changes on behalf of her clients. Other responsibilities include monitoring and analysis of Federal legislation; drafting and advocating legislative policy; developing briefing materials and lobbying strategies; lobbying Capitol Hill and the Executive Agencies; preparing Congressional testimony on behalf of clients; interaction with business coalitions; and public speaking engagements on transportation and trade issues. On behalf of various client interests she has successfully lobbied for Federal appropriations before the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Commerce, Justice, State and Judiciary; and Transportation; Energy & Water; Military Construction; and Agriculture, Rural Development and Related Agencies. She has worked closely with numerous offices within the US Department of Transportation and other Federal agencies to effect policy and regulatory changes for the benefit of her clients. Kathryn is very familiar with the San Francisco Bay Area having lived there five years while her husband was an intern, resident and fellow at UCSF. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s prestigious Echols Scholar program. |
